Ellie

Teen Daze

EU Tour EP

Here’s a massive new track from Teen Daze that’s on his recently released EU Tour EP. It’s called Ellie and it’s one of the best things he’s conjured of late. It has that restless synth work and ever shifting shape that sounds exactly like Four More Years all over again. You can buy the EP for $3. Just do it.

Dive have changed their name to DIIV, because an industrial band actually already took the name in the 1990’s (who would have guessed that’d be a possibility!) And they also have a new song called Doused for you to listen to, so get on that.

Here’s the first song from Twin Shadow’s forthcoming sophomore, Confess. It’s called Five Seconds. It’s almost reminiscent of Prince’s work in a way, definitely an interesting twist on a familiar sound. Download.

Here’s yet another TV Girl song from their upcoming The Wild, The Innocent, The TV Shuffle mixtape. This one’s called It Evaporates and it’s a slower tempo doo-wop style song that you could easily imagine being ripped right from the unreleased demos of any 60’s girl group. Download. (via)

Finally something to hold onto from this new PS I Love You album! This is a track called Don’t Go and even if you’ve never been a fan of the band’s vocal work, you can’t deny the instrumentation on this one. It’s definitely reminiscent of Japandroids at their best, so check it out. The album, Death Dreams, is out May 8th.

Yuck just released a new song called Chew and it’s one of the best since Get Away. Definitely a Smashing Pumpkins vibe on this one. Looks like their cover artist has gotten better is well, and thank christ for that.

TV Girl are releasing their debut album for free in a matter of weeks. And here’s the first taste, a upbeat retro-tinged jam about heartbreak called I Wonder Who She’s Kissing Now. I really, really hope they don’t pull a Summer Camp with this one and release a terrible album with one deceptively good first single. Download.

How Long Have You Known?

I’ll be honest here, Dive have gone from a “I’m sure some Beach Fossils fans will get a kick out of this by default” courtesy post, to one of the few bands at the moment with a truly exciting build up to their debut LP.

Each new track shows a them taking one step closer to stepping out of the shadow of their main project, and now, even more than Heavenly Beat; who had a much stronger start, they are truly their own beast. How Long Have You Known? is the certainly the zenith of this transformation. Download.

Teen Daze’s next single from his All Of Us Together release is called The Future. He says it’s the only track on the album with vocals, so it looks like it’s shaping up to be more like his My Bedroom Floor release than anything else. You know what to expect here; dreamy, bubbling synths and an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and wistfulness.

Summer Heart’s got an album coming out April 25th called About A Feeling. Here’s the first single from that release, A Million Times. It continues the melancholic chillwavey vibes his previous work has had and there’s definitely some Brothertiger and Washed Out comparisons to be made here. Download.
