Shy Boys make Jangly Retro Pop with 90’s Shoegazey elements and hazy male/female vocals. It’s actually a new project from Brandon Biondo of the now defunct Coolrunnings, and while you can hear hints of that old sound in there, this is definitely a different direction for him.
This is Julia, the B-Side from their recent (Like, 11 days ago recent) Ride / Julia release. As far as official debut releases go, it’s really quite strong, and to show their appreciation for the support they have already received, they went ahead and released another track, Something, for free download. This could be the start of something, guys.
Surf Club return with a new single, called Heaven. They’re continuing their new trend of more romantic, dreamy material, that started with previous single, Reverie. The same hazy reverb drenched guitars and vocals, the same feeling of longing and loss, looks like this is Surf Club’s new sound. Download.

Go Cozy are a Dream-Pop band with that classic jangly guitar sound that characterises the 80’s influenced scene that bands like Craft Spells and Wild Nothing reside in. This track, Silverlining, was actually released late 2011, but you may not have heard it yet. Everything’s free to download from their Bandcamp too, so go for it. Download.

So in light of Teen Suicide breaking up, Sam Ray and Alec Simke have a new project called Julia Brown. The bad news is there’s no more Teen Suicide, the good news is, if this first track, Library, is any indication, you’ll be able to transfer your affections pretty easily. Download.

Iceage are back with the first single from their forthcoming sophomore, You’re Nothing. It’s called Coalition and it’s far more melodic and anthemic than their previous work. Sort of like if The Horrors took their Strange House sound and fused it with their Primary Colours themes. Download.

Blessin’ have released their first EP after struggling all year long with other commitments (Unimportant stuff like College educations), something I can relate to all too well. The EP is called No, and there’s a sort of early Ducktails sound to a lot of it, and at 7 tracks, there’s plenty of room to explore that direction over a wide gamut of sounds and emotions. You can download the whole EP for any price you want, including free, at their bandcamp.
